After the students in period 7, each representing a different state in the electoral colleges, took a baseline survey regarding “Who do you support?”, Rory Nevins is currently in the lead with a whopping 116 electoral votes and 38.5% of the popular vote. This is more than triple Pablo’s votes, who is currently in second with, 36 electoral votes and 13.9% of the popular vote.
Next, Konstantin and Tiger are back to back in the electoral college with a one point difference as Konstantin has 17 votes and Tiger has 16 votes--though a closer look at the popular vote will show a much larger margin, with Konstantin carrying 15.4% and Tiger carrying less than 1% (to be exact, only one person of the 25). This is the same percentage as Max, who is also polled last in the electoral college with only 6 votes.
Rory’s most appealing factor to voters thus far has been his character; he has a reputation as an intelligent and kindhearted person, and many were motivated to vote for him due to a personal connection to him.
People who voted for Pablo, meanwhile, cited his political experience in student government and his current position in office as class president. Konstantin is known for his substantial social media following; Tiger’s votes were based on recognition; and Max’s, based on agreement with his stances on the issues.
However, there are still a whopping 87 electoral votes unaccounted for as states California B, Illinois, Texas A, North Carolina, New Mexico and Arkansas, are undecided as of now. Whatever California B, Illinois and Texas A decide on could have a major role on the end results, due to their huge number of electoral votes. All the delegates that are as of yet undecided claimed they wanted to get a clearer understanding of each of the candidates stances on the issues before they expressed a preference.
