Official Endorsement: Tiger Bjornlund

Upon careful consideration and discussion, the Walking Nine has decided to endorse candidate Tiger Bjornlund in his campaign for presidency of the United States.

Unlike some candidates who have had no prior political commitments, Bjornlund has a host of prior experiences that make The Walking Nine confident in his ability to lead and navigate both national and international political scenes, having held terms as both a governor and state senator of Maryland, as well as working as leading humanitarian efforts in Botswana.

Not only does he have a plethora of credentials, but he is continually active and involved in current events; he has spoken up about the crisis in Aleppo, Syria, and about the nature of sexual assault suspensions at notable universities. A president needs to be aware of the current state of the country and the world, and Bjornlund has repeatedly proved that he is informed and responsive.

Additionally, Bjornlund has been the epitome of professionalism; his press releases, speeches, and official statements are clear, concise, and eloquent. His campaign so far has had a genuine emphasis on clearly outlined policies, rather than jokes and theatricality. To date, Bjornlund is one of the only candidates who has abstained from mudslinging on social media such as Twitter or making jokes or comments in bad taste.

Bjornlund was accused of a gambling addiction in early December--a story which The Walking Nine itself broke, and which has caused an understandable amount of uncertainty about his character. But rather than sweeping the scandal under the rug, Bjornlund quickly addressed and resolved any concerns. He issued an official statement responding to his alleged addiction within less than an hour of the scandal being exposed, in which he admitted to his previous issues with gambling, but explained that his addiction has been treated and resolved, and that his abilities will neither be hindered nor influenced by his past transgressions. Bjornlund’s handling of the situation was admirable, and he has proven that he is more than capable of being collected in the face of controversy, a skill crucial to any President.

It is the opinion of The Walking Nine that Bjornlund’s experience, depth of knowledge, impeccable organization and professional attitude clearly distinguish him as the candidate most qualified for the presidency.

The Walking Nine, however, promises to continue to maintain objective news coverage of all candidates and their campaigns, and holds the right to withdraw or change its endorsement at any moment in time.
