Endorsement Analysis: Nevins' heavily supported by science and education experts

Candidate Rory Nevins has accumulated a wide range of endorsements from multiple supporters within the educational sector.

Possibly the most noteworthy of Nevins’ endorsements is that of Dr. Alan Goodwin, Whitman’s principal of 12 years.

Nevins has garnered additional support from three STEM teachers: Kelly Garton, an AP environmental science teacher, Marisa Del Savio, an AP Psychology teacher, and Yi Song, a programming teacher. Their support exemplifies the importance Nevins places on the environment, as well as the scientific and technological community.

Song also teaches Chinese. Her support, along with that of Helen Harris’, a French teacher, demonstrates Nevins’ attention to creating relationships with foreign countries.

Jennie Yu, the editor in chief of Global News Network, has also publicly backed Nevins.

“He’s just a very competent and intelligent person,” Yu said. “I think Rory’s smart enough to know that when you say something you have to deliver, and I think that he will.”
